SpeakSpanishLive.com was a great learning experience for me and I am looking forward to taking continuing classes in the near future. I took a few years of High School Spanish twenty years ago, but forgot most of what I learned throughout the years. I planned a trip to South America for my summer vacation and SpeakSpanishLive.com was a fantastic tool to get me back to speaking Spanish again. I looked forward every week for my early evening class and I cannot say enough about how awesome my instructor was with her patience and encouragement. Hi, I am Steve Lareau, a 57 year old Certified Public Accountant from Apopka Florida. I have been visiting Central America for many years and have numerous times attended Spanish Schools under an emersion program for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. I have very much enjoyed those school experiences and the people I have met. When I returned to the US I found that I failed to use what I had learned in School and so over the next year I forgot most of it. I began taking classes with SpeakSpanishLive.com in the hopes of both refreshing my Spanish during the year and, with luck, actually improving it. The classes have been challenging over the last couple of months as I have been cajoled by Rosalinda, my teacher, to do my homework and continue to progress. Though I am not an easy student to work with, my teacher does everything she can to help me and, as she says, little by little I am learning Spanish. Learning to speak Spanish was the furthest thing from my mind – retired, nearly 60 years old and just enjoying life. Studying a new language just seemed like too much work, especially since I had no real need for speaking Spanish at this stage of my life. The beginner lesson plans are easy to understand and presented in a logical order, first learning often-used phrases and vocabulary, then moving on to numbers, masculine/feminine articles, and verb components. The teacher is excellent! She has a wonderful personality, a warm smile and always provides encouraging words and laughter to make the lessons light and friendly. In summary, my experience with SpeakSpanishLive.com has been fun and exciting, and studying again at my age has made me eager to learn more and more.
